April Haiku

April 19, 2024

Dear St. Elizabeth's Community,

April is National Poetry Month, and I thought it would be a delightful change to use haiku as a way to celebrate! Instead of the usual newsletter, I’m sharing a poetic exploration of our core values. Haiku's concise beauty captures the essence of our values in just a few lines, offering a unique perspective on what we strive for as a school community.

Curiosity

Questions like seedlings,
Sprout in minds eager to grow—
Wisdom's garden thrives.

Courage

Brave steps forward lead,
Against fierce winds of doubt—
Paths cleared by strong will.

Compassion

Gentle hands, warm hearts,
Whispered words mend tender souls—
Love's quiet power blooms.

Connection

Bridges of warm smiles,
Linking hearts in unity—
Together, stronger.

Children

Bright eyes, future's promise,
Joyful laughter, hope's echo—
Our tomorrow's song.
