In October 2026, the Board of Trustees announced its decision to conclude school operations at the end of the 2025–2026 academic year. Our funding model—requiring significant philanthropy alongside growing enrollment—has always been bold and challenging. Operational costs continue to rise, and despite ongoing generosity from donors, and creativity and determination from leadership, we have not been able to offset these growing costs or build an endowment large enough to sustain the school long-term. This was a financial decision and not a reflection on our excellent programs or our extraordinary faculty, staff, and leadership team.

We often assume the value of something is measured by how long it lasts. But a teacher doesn't need decades to change a life, a friendship doesn't need to last forever to matter, and a school's impact cannot be measured only in years.

The true value of any endeavor rests in what it makes possible.

And what St. Elizabeth's has made possible is extraordinary: young people who care deeply, think critically, act courageously, and believe they can make a difference. It lives in the friendships formed here, the confidence our students carry with them, and the countless acts of compassion, curiosity, courage, and connection that have shaped this community.

To our donors, students, families, faculty, staff, and friends—thank you for being part of this remarkable journey. The legacy of St. Elizabeth's lives on in each of us as we carry forward what we built together. The seeds we planted here have already taken root.

St. Elizabeth’s School has now permanently closed. To ensure the ongoing protection and availability of student and employment records, the Board of Trustees has named Summit & Shore Advisors as the official custodian of St. Elizabeth’s School records.
