Welcome Back From Break!

January 8, 2026

Dear St. Elizabeth's Community,

Winter has a way of creating space—space to rest, to notice what we’ve been carrying, and to remember what matters beyond the urgency of the everyday.

This time of year reminds us that we move in seasons—of effort and pause, closeness and distance, clarity and questions. As we return from winter break, I hope your family found moments that felt nourishing, grounding, or simply easeful in the ways you most needed.

The weeks and months ahead bring fresh energy and new opportunities. As we ease back into school days, may we lean into joy, notice progress big and small, and extend kindness—to our children, to one another, and to ourselves.

One of my personal goals this year is to take myself a little less seriously. I want to make sure I laugh everyday. Our students have good jokes and they crack me up so this shouldn’t be too hard. I’m also trying—earnestly—to drink more water. As a small January experiment, I invite you to give yourself permission to take one thing each day a little less seriously and call that a win. Parenting counts. Mornings count. Lunches forgotten at home count. ??

We are grateful to be in partnership with you and so glad to welcome everyone back. We look forward to the learning, connection, and care that will shape the months ahead.

Best foot forward,
Adriana Murphy
