We're excited to share the news that Adriana Murphy, St. Elizabeth’s Head of School, has been selected to serve on the National Association for Independent Schools (NAIS) Board of Trustees. Adriana was nominated and then confirmed by NAIS members in early March. Her term is for three years.

NAIS is the leading nonprofit membership association that provides services to more than 2,000 schools and associations of schools in the United States and abroad, including more than 1,600 nonprofit, private K-12 schools in the U.S. that are self-determining in mission and program and are governed by independent boards. As the largest association of independent schools, NAIS co-creates the future of education by uniting and empowering our community.

Adriana will be one of a 16-member board addressing the national organization’s fiduciary and strategic duties. Currently, she stands as the sole woman selected in this new cohort and the only member hailing from the Southwest Region.

This prestigious honor is an opportunity for her to share her unique perspective and visionary approach. For over 20 years, Adriana has been fostering inclusive and collaborative school communities and revitalizing schools by way of robust academics and programs. She has been instrumental in helping St. Elizabeth’s stand out as a national model of excellence, equity, and community.

The entire St. E's community celebrates her amazing achievement! We'll be rooting for her all the way as she shares her voice on critical educational issues, shaping the future of education on a national stage.

Congratulations, Adriana!
